Episode 70: Quiet Living

In today’s episode of The Real State, we explore the intersection between real estate and the effects noise issues have on the quality of apartment dwellings.

New Yorkers often complain about the noises that torment them during the day and keep them up at night. There are the usual suspects — barking dogs, crying babies, outdoor diners, jackhammers, and sirens (and don’t forget the neighbors). But even seemingly pleasant sounds — wind chimes, children playing, opera singing — can induce rage, given the right circumstances.
